Now, onto what we’re doing now. We’re working on the 2017 edition of the LaserPerformance Collegiate Cup (LPCC), located on scenic Lake Garda in Northern Italy. It will be in the town of Campione del Garda, on the northern shore of the lake. As the largest lake in the country, it is perfect venue for regattas, and has many every year. Last year the LPCC was hosted by Circolo Vela Torbole, just a few miles away. The majority of the racing is 3v3 team racing, in LaserPerformance’s Z420 Dinghies. Each boat has 2 people, so teams need a minimum of 6 sailors. Last year’s top scorer was New Zealand, with a 16-4 record. We are expecting there to be 10-15 teams this summer, from around the world. We’ll keep you updated as it gets closer!
Hi there! My name is Perry Barringer, and I am the new social media guy for LaserPerformance. It has been a little while (just under a year) since our last post, but I hope some of you are still out there! We have been working hard here, but first a little bit about myself. I am currently attending Chapman University, and will be a junior in the fall. It is located in sunny Southern California, about 20-30 minutes inland from Newport Harbor, so I can pop out there sometimes and take a quick sail. I have been on boats since I was born, and was started out in an opti at Noroton Yacht Club. I spent many summers out on Long Island Sound, and have also been lucky enough to spend time sailing at the Bitter End Yacht Club, on Lake Garda, and some pacific sailing.
